Dear Andy from Davey,
Thanks for a special long distance bromance. A bit like the Ashes cricket, there were pints every 2 years, in either Blighty or Down Under, and good text banter in between. Pints went hand in hand with your trade mark hearty and humorous conversation. Your stories would start with “you know what’s really interesting” and cover diverse topics like tea, art, Royal gossip and Russian spies. Rugby commentary and cricket statistics weren’t far behind. Laughed that you were proud of the Barmy Army cheering for “Roooot”.
So grateful for so many joyful occasions, including the movies in SevenOaks to see Priscilla Queen of the Desert, watching the Dons play in the EPL at a dry venue, Christmas Eve church in SevenOaks when you knocked the baubles off the Christmas tree, betting on the trotters at Penrith Paceway, chatting up the oyster shucker at Matilda’s wedding and a recent long lunch with Jojo and Gracie at The Surprise. One famous shopping trip went pub, RWC shop, pub, Victoria Secret – where your eyes popped at the “panty bar” and that became our code for “time for a drink at the bar?”.
Above all else we admired your enduring love for family, good friends and being proud Uncle Bugs. At every kick off and first over, cheers to you Bugs.
